The Summa Theologiae is a compilation of theological teachings, with a heavy focus and emphasis on the world of angels. The complete work itself was never finished, but it expanded greatly upon the angelic world, as well as the Seraphim class of beings. Saint Thomas Aquinas stated in this work that the word Seraphim is rooted in charity, and in this specific case excess of charity, all through the word ardor which means fire. He claimed that there is much hidden meaning in the term fiery ones, which is what the Hebrew word Seraphim itself means. He claimed as with fire, the Seraphim angels burn inflexibly towards God. He also claimed that the Seraphim radiate the pure light of God, an inextinguishable brightness of truth and clarity that will never be put out. Thanks again for this interesting question Ahmed.
